The UC Davis ice hockey team began practice this week, with a new group of recruits beginning their Aggie careers along with many returning players. With the largest class of recruits in recent history, the mix of young and old players brings a unique mix to the team. It was an exciting weekend for the Aggies, who, coming off of a victory against Chapman University, would face UCSD the next night. However, the Aggies were plagued with injuries, and the lack of firepower was present from the start. UCSD would score quickly and UCD would not find a response, shutting down the Aggie offense. This weekend the Aggies traveled to a crowded Oakland Ice rink to play San Francisco State University for the second time this season. Alumni Kaleb Klauber and Josh Nelson were behind the bench, as coach Pete Fenolio was unavailable for the game. In a stunning show of force, the Aggies scored time and time again, taking a dominant 19-2 victory.
