This past weekend, the Aggies hosted a home-and-home in Vacaville. On Friday night, the Santa Cruz Banana Slugs came to town for their first matchup with UC Davis this season. Though in their first season, the Slugs proved competitive from the start. A well-defended first period saw the Aggies come up with three goals to the Slugs' one. The UC Davis ice hockey team began practice this week, with a new group of recruits beginning their Aggie careers along with many returning players. After two tough losses to Santa Clara University the past weekend, UC Davis set itself to come back against Stanford University this weekend. Driving out Ice Oasis proved difficult for many, as the early 4:15 game kept some players from attending. Regardless, Davis proved a dominant force with a reduced roster. This weekend, UC Davis will take on Santa Clara University twice--once in Fremont, and once here in Vacaville. Tonight the Aggies will travel to Sharks Ice at Fremont to face them for the first time this season. Both teams got off to a slow start this season, but recently have picked up steam.
